Long Sleeve Polo

As we look to shed the winter layers, the long sleeve polo is a great option for early spring. A long sleeve polo with jeans and sneakers is a classy casual look that doesn't sacrifice comfort. Just like short sleeve polos, there are many long sleeve polo options; however, not all are created equal.
When looking for the best long sleeve polo, I was looking for a the right combination of soft materials while not sacrificing structure. And when it comes to structure, I am specifically looking for a durable collar. If the collar slumps down or loses shape, this look can quickly go from classy to overly comfortable (think stretched out v-neck t-shirt).
As previously mentioned, this is a deep category. But if we are being honest, I don't have a "go to" in my closet. This gave me an opportunity to test four items that were completely new to me.

P4G REVIEW
As a reminder, here at Picks4Guys we pick FOUR (2 staples, 1 discount, and 1 new kid) products in one category and review the items for price, fit, materials, and x-factor. We score the items and pick a winner. Without further ado, let's review:
Long Sleeve Polo:
- Staples (Mack Weldon, Faherty)
- Discount (Lands End)
- New Kid (Criquet) - Reminder this is new to me, not necessarily a new brand.
Let's work left to right on the picture (Mack Weldon, Faherty, Lands End, and Criquet)
Mack Weldon - Intrepid Long Sleeve Polo - Retail $88 - This long sleeve polo is fantastic. I have ordered Mack Weldon items in the past, but this is my favorite so far. The material is super soft with some stretch. The collar is structured but not stiff. The sleeve cuffs have buttons which allows for easy roll up. This is a good option for those that often pull up their sleeves and end up stretching out the cuff. There is no front pocket, but that doesn't bother me. I am hopeful that this shirt is durable over time. Out of the box, I really like it. Overall Score - 3.55 (out of 4.00) Buy Here
Faherty Long-Sleeve Polo - Retail $118 - I keep coming back to the Faherty brand. They are consistent with every item I order. While the prices are at a premium, this is a great brand. And like the brand, this shirt delivers. This long sleeve polo is a great item and has a great look with the stripes. The shirt has extra fabric and stitching in all the right places, while still feeling like and stretchy. Unlike Mack Weldon, this item has a front pocket and a regular (no button) cuff. This is a sharp item and definitely stands out from the bunch. I gave the slight edge to Mack Weldon based on the price variance. Overall Score - 3.50 Buy Here
Lands End - Long Sleeve Super Soft Supima Polo Shirt - Retail $45 - This is a no frills long sleeve with a great fit. My wife actually gave this one the highest score based on how it fit me. At a lower price point, this is a great option. The one area that I didn't love about this item was the collar. It has a softer collar that lays a little flat (and typically doesn't hold up well over time). Everything else about this shirt is made well. If you aren't a collar stickler like me, this is an item for you. Overall Score - 3.40 Buy Here
Criquet - Long Sleeve Players Shirt - Retail $109 - I chose this shirt based on relentless Instagram marketing. This item kept popping up on my Instagram, and curiosity (marketing) got the best of me. This is a slightly different style than the others. This polo is made from a thinker material with a very structure collar and front pocket. The thicker material might actually be a good thing for cooler climates, but I didn't love the flap on the front pocket. It seemed to jump off my chest a little. This item has button cuffs like the Mack Weldon shirt. I think Criquet actually does a better job of making the cuff structured and easy to roll up the sleeves. Overall, I liked this item, but not as much as the Mack Weldon or Faherty. Overall Score - 3.45 Buy Here
And the winner is... the Mack Weldon Intrepid Long Sleeve Polo! I was really impressed by the soft material, slightly structured collar, and the overall look of this item. As I said before, Mack Weldon barely edged out Faherty for the win. This was a tight one! I really liked all of these items and think each one brings unique advantages. I enjoyed reviewing these items that were all new to me.
