The Everywhere T-Shirt

Updated: Mar 7, 2021

A good t-shirt is the staple of every man's wardrobe. However, finding that perfect t-shirt isn't always easy. And now these companies produce a flat hem bottom and a curved hem bottom. That's what I needed, more complexity in picking out a t-shirt. The t-shirt has literally been the same for over 100 years and now we need change?!?! Anyway, I digress. So what are we looking for in the Everywhere Tee? This t-shirt should fit well and be able to withstand the daily wear and tear of life. While it is acceptable to wear a t-shirt almost anywhere these days, I'm not saving a t-shirt for a special occasion.

P4G REVIEW

As a reminder, here at Picks4Guys we pick FOUR (2 staples, 1 discount, and 1 new kid) products in one category and review the items for price, fit, materials, and x-factor. We score the items and pick a winner. Without further ado, let's get to it:

Everywhere T-Shirts:

- Staples (Buck Mason, Cuts Clothing)

- Discount (Uniqlo)

- New Kid (BYLT Basics) - Reminder this is new to me, not necessarily a new brand.

Buck Mason Slub T-shirt - Retail Price $35 - This one could have been a "New Kid" for this review as well. I have wanted to try this California brand for awhile now, but this is my first purchase. I like the shirt, it feels like that California laid back vibe. The shirt is soft with good texture (as advertised for their Slub tee). The only issue I found is that the shirt is too short on me. I plan to return the shirt, and in doing so found out that Buck Mason has a great return program. You can return unused items up to 365 days from purchase and they even send the return label in the original package. While the shirt didn't work for me, I had a good overall first brand experience. Overall Score - 3.50 Buy HERE

Cuts Clothing Slub Curve-Hem - Retail Price $48 - This shirt is SOFT! Cuts uses high end materials, but at $48 per shirt, you are paying for it. The Cuts brand boasts that this is a t-shirt that you can wear to work. If you think of it that way, maybe $48 is right in the wheelhouse for a work shirt. However, I still can't wrap my head around that price for a t-shirt. Also, I need to be honest, the curve-hem is not for me. I gave it a good try, but it just isn't me. If you're a t-shirt traditionalist like me, Cuts has a box cut option as well. To summarize, I really like this shirt, but the price is just too steep for this dad. Overall Score - 3.40 (out of 4.00) Buy HERE

Uniqlo Supima Cotton Crewneck - Retail Price $15 - The Japanese brand Uniqlo is providing this week's discount item. I was pleasantly surprised with this no frills tee. While not as soft as the other shirts, it feels well made and durable. One important item I look at with the bargain t-shirts is the neck. I want to make sure the neck hem is strong and won't wear over time. This shirt has a good neck. Overall, this is a good value t-shirt. At just under $15 this is a good shirt at a bargain price. Overall Score - 3.25 Buy HERE

BYLT Basics Drop Cut - Retail Price $29 - We have already talked about my issues with the curve-hem, but let's not live in the past. BYLT is our New Kid this week. Established in 2016, BYLT aims to provide premium basics at an affordable price. It is also obvious from their website that BYLT is a brand focused on casual gear for the the guy or gal with an athletic build. As evidence when trying to find the right size shirt, I was asked to input my bicep size. That was a humbling experience. Enough about the brand, how's the shirt? The t-shirt is nice, with a clean look. The material has some stretch, but doesn't breathe as well as some of the other options. The item seems durable and is at a pretty good price point. Like Cuts, BYLT does have traditional cut options, which they refer to as "Basic". At the BYLT price point, I like these shirts. Overall Score - 3.25 Buy HERE

And the winner is... there is no true winner this week. T-shirts are too personal and each person might be looking for something slightly different. I had fun reviewing these items and trying out some new brands.
